Dr Disrespect, also known as Guy Beahm, has caused a stir across social media with his recent admission regarding his permanent ban from Twitch in 2020 for inappropriate messaging with a minor. In a statement, Beahm acknowledged engaging in what he described as “casual, mutual conversations that sometimes leaned too much in the direction of being inappropriate” with a minor back in 2017. He emphasized that these interactions did not escalate beyond conversations.

However, his statement has triggered strong reactions from fellow streamers and influencers. Kai Cenat notably unfollowed Dr Disrespect during a live stream, expressing disbelief at the extent of Beahm’s admission. Ninja, another prominent figure in the streaming community, commented on the severity of the situation, noting that Beahm’s own game studio severing ties speaks volumes.

QTCinderella responded sharply, referencing Beahm’s past comments about her Streamer Awards event, criticizing him with a pointed retort, “Imagine flirting with a minor.” KSI expressed disappointment, citing Beahm as an inspiration while urging him to strive for better conduct. Valkyrae and Pokimane echoed the sentiment with terse reactions on Twitter, labeling the situation as “Dr Disgusting” and “Yuck” respectively.

TimTheTatMan, a longtime friend of Beahm’s, expressed disbelief in a video, stating his inability to support Beahm if the allegations are true. MoistCritikal drew a comparison to infamous cases on ‘To Catch a Predator,’ condemning Beahm’s actions despite his claims of innocence.

NICKMERCS also weighed in strongly, denouncing Beahm’s behavior as “inexcusable” and “unacceptable,” firmly stating his refusal to support or defend such actions.

Despite the widespread condemnation from his peers, Dr Disrespect has expressed his intention to return to streaming, further intensifying the ongoing controversy within the streaming community.
